Our big push for Ikasucon 2017 is the improvement of our Gameroom and related activities. We’ve bought new games, revisited the room’s layout, and integrated regular programming like our new Let’s Play: LIVE series.

Bring Your Own Console Area
New to the Game Room this year, is a space to show off the cool games and systems you own. Our Bring Your Own Console area will provide TVs and a place to plug in any system you’d like, from Atari 2600 all the way up to the most modern consoles (using red/yellow/white RCA cables), and play with friends! We do ask that you keep in mind that Ikasucon can’t be responsible for damage or loss to your equipment, so please keep an eye on your systems so that everyone can have a great time! The TVs will be the “tube TVs,” perfect for retro gaming. Modern consoles may need an adapter, or you’re welcome to bring your own display.
PlayStation 4 VR Demo Area
Ikasucon is proud to announce that this year we’ll have a dedicated PlayStation 4 VR setup in the game room! In addition to VR Worlds, we’ll also have two other games available to try out: RIGS: Mechanized Combat League and Job Simulator! In RIGS, the player assumes the role of a mecha pilot as they battle it out in the arena with a variety of opponents. On the other hand, Job Simulator offers a sandbox experience where the player is free to experiment with their controls as they try to perform tasks in a variety of settings.
Let’s Play LIVE!
Gamers on YouTube such as Markiplier and PewDiePie have gained millions of followers by playing some of the most popular, most challenging, and strangest video games on the market. Once you start watching these videos, it’s hard to stop. Our Video Gaming department is proud to present the Let’s Play experience with a dose of unpredictability. Unlike YouTube, there’s no way to edit these performances. Everything is unscripted and anything can happen. Our Let’s Play Team will pick up their controllers and face unknown challenges head on. Who knows – they may even allow audience members to join in the fun!
