Ikasucon 2009

06.28.09

Anime Family Feud is returning to Ikasucon 2009! We're looking for just a moment of your time to complete a survey (off-site link) that will be used to make the questions and answers for the game. You don't have to be registered as an attendee to respond.

Thanks for taking a moment to help us out!

05.26.09

The Ikasucon Programming Division is pleased to announce that Panel Submissions are now open! If you would like to send in your panel idea, visit the Panel Submission page and fill out the online form. As we have lots of great events already lined up, space will be limited, so sign up today!

It has come to convention management's attention that attendees are making their own flyers and distributing them at anime conventions. While we appreciate attendees' enthusiastic support, flyer production and distribution must be controlled by the convention's staff, to ensure that it is done in a manner that does not upset our friends at other area conventions.

If you wish to create or distribute flyers for Ikasucon, please contact our Relations division at relations@ikasucon.org for more information.

Thank you.

Thanks to all who have participated in our Forums! They're growing larger by the day, and a wealth of information can be found from the numerous staffers posting there from all the different departments of the convention. Creating an account and posting is free and easy. Just visit the Forums today to get started.

Our biggest announcement to date... our first round of Guests of Honor! Our Guest Relations staff have been working hard and are pleased to announce that the following Guests have confirmed their attendance for our 2009 convention:

Jeremy Mauney, Musician, comic artist, and manga artist who worked on the Fist of the North Star in Japan.
Wendy Powell, the voice of Envy in Fullmetal Alchemist along with numerous others
Harlan and Mariah Watkins of Archaic Jump Productions, independent video game creators, voice actors, and concept artists
Travis Willingham, popular anime and game voice actor whose credits include Fullmetal Alchemist's Roy

Complete details on our guests can be found on our Guests page very soon.

Even more big announcements from our Programming division! Our registration for the Cosplay and AMV competitions are now open! Be sure to take a look at the rules for each contest, linked from the Events page. Online pre-registration for Cosplay is also available. Check the Forums for further details, or email our cosplay coordinator at cosplay@ikasucon.org.

A couple of reminders... The second registration deadline is looming fast. Be sure to register before April 11th in order to get a great deal on a 3-day pass! You can register online easily. Also, when you register, stick around the website and get information about reserving a room at the Hilton Fort Wayne at the special Ikasucon rate! There are a limited number of rooms available that weekend, so book soon to make sure you get the convention rate.

We're always looking for help, too. Currently we have several staff positions open in our Video & Tabletop Gaming and Operations departments. If you're at least sixteen years old and want to help us out during the convention, send an email to info@ikasucon.org. Be sure to specify which department you want to work for so that we get you matched up with the best job available.

We're moving along quickly, and will have more announcements in the weeks to come! Stop by the forums and chat, or check us out on your favorite social networking site! Search for Ikasucon on FaceBook, join our LiveJournal community, or follow us on Twitter.

Enjoy your April, and see you at the con!

Hope everyone had a great holiday season. With 2008 behind us, planning for the 2009 convention has kicked into high gear.

Our Live Programming department is well underway. Panel and workshop submissions will open soon, and many of your favorite events will be announced as well!

Hotel reservations are now open! Check our Location page soon for more details on how you can reserve a room at Ikasucon's official hotel, the Hilton Ft. Wayne. It's directly attached to the Grand Wayne Convention Center, so you're never more than a few minutes away from all the fun!

Check out our Forums, too! Congoers are already discussing cosplay plans, the latest anime, and interacting with our staff moderators. It's a lot of fun, and the more the merrier! There's also information about how you can help Ikasucon by volunteering as a Staff member.

For up-to-date information, you can subscribe to our pages on Twitter and Facebook, and as alwaus, check on the front page of Ikasucon.org!
