Ikasucon 2007
Cosplay Contest Rules
- You must have a valid Ikasucon 2007 badge to enter the cosplay.
- Groups are limited to 10 people maximum. This is for your safety, not ours.
- No live steel on stage. This WILL be enforced. Along these lines, anything that could be mistaken as a realistic weapon must be cleared before entering the contest. You must bring all props you plan on using during the cosplay with you to cosplay pre-judging.
- Skits are limited to a maximum of 4 minutes. If your skit runs over, you will be disqualified.
- Your language must be limited to PG-13 rating as well as anything you do on the stage. There may be small children and families in the audience so please keep things clean.
- Please do not leave anything on stage. We don't want the stage to look like your hotel room. We will not return anything nor are we responsible for anything lost.
- All costumes must be related to some facet of Japanese culture, ie anime J-Rock/J-Pop, video games, etc. If you decide to come to the convention as an American character do not expect to be allowed to participate in the Cosplay.
- Surprises...we hate them... If you want to surprise the audience, go for it. Just as long as we know about it first.
- If you want any music for your skit, have it on CD and since we can't stop it, please be sure to have the appropriate pauses in your track. Trust us...if you depend on us to pause your track, we'll screw it up each and every time. (Note: Please inform us if you have a cd during cosplay pre-judging.)
- Registration forms MUST be turned in by 12:00PM Saturday in Main Programming. (Time tentative to change.) There will be a registration form inserted in your program book and there will be extras available in Main Programming. There will be a limited number of entries for the cosplay this year so if you really want to be involved please be sure to turn it in early.
- All participants must attend the MANDATORY pre-judging Saturday in main events. Please arrive 10 - 15 minutes early. (Times to be posted later.)
- At cosplay pre-judging, you will have the option to be judged on your costumes. Please bring reference sketches and pictures of your character so we don't mistake you for someone you're not.
- Any other issues can be sent via email to programming@ikasucon.org.
- Have fun and good luck.
